MASTER is the first russian asteroid factory

Robot-telescope MASTER,that was built for optical observations of gamma-ray bursts, began the sky-SURVEY in search of different unusual objects like Super Nova stars, asteroids, comets and etc.

Today we introduce MASTER work in asteroids searching. Let's remind, that MASTER has unique for Russia and leading for the world parameters now. MASTER can get sky-images in 6 square degrees up to 19m in some minuts.

MASTER exceeds famous robot-telescope ROTSE by these parameters, that was constructed for gamma-ray bursts observations, and is like PALOMAR Shmidt telescope, that has 19m per 9 square degrees. Let's remarks, that new PALOMAR project was created special for Super Nova searching and uses 112 CCD-chips and costs about several millions dollars.

MASTER works with the ONLY CCD-camera AP16E ( 4000x4000 pixels ), but this camera is one of the biggest in the world.

The image-reduction takes place in real time and one can see below the results of the reduction of ONE sky-square (6 sq.deg.).

The stars in circuls is the stars, that was detected in PALOMAR survey, and asteroids are in rhombuses. 2 columns are the same regions for 2 images of one sky-square, that was got with the difference in 40 min.
